Corrosion Costs, Solutions, and Mitigation Products
In my day-to-day, I come across many parts, components, items, pipelines – across all sectors, that are heavily corroded or are starting to corrode. Below are a few images I snapped along one of my typical walks that illustrates the everyday corrosion around us.
According to the International Measures of Prevention, Application, and Economics of Corrosion Technologies (IMPACT) study, initiated by NACE International, the estimated global cost of corrosion is $2.5 trillion. That amount is equivalent to 3.4% of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (2013).
